what are my chances of getting an H1B visa

what are my chances of getting an H1B visa?
I am an undergradute student in a combined BA/MA economics program (expecting to graduate within 4 yrs) in the united states. After graduating i intend to get a masters in financial engineering from columbia university. I am an international student and hence getting an H1b visa is obviously important to me. I was wondering if wall street investment banks sponsor alot of foreign workers. I know the financial system is a mess right now and its stupid to expect a job right NOW. but i will graduate college in 2011 and grad skool in 2012. what are my chances of being sponsored by an investment bank working as an investment banking analyst or something of that sort.

If I could tell the future, I would be a rich man! In the past, Wall Street firms sponsored a lot of H1-B visas. However, while they have TARP money, it is unlikely that they will hire any such foreigners. So, it depends on how long you think the recession will last.

Not good - things will continue to decline in this country until we are third world. But surely someone as gifted as you in finance already knew that. It will be tough to invest in anything after the market crashes.

Slim to none. Besides there are certain requirements for H1-B visas and unless you are cap exempt you will be waiting a seriously long time. Find a U.S. Citizen and marry them that is the easiest/fastest way. Just make sure you have lots of pretty pictures and family to back it up.
